Ju Hyeon Kim, Tae Soup Shim, and Shin-Hyun Kim, "Lithographic Design of Overhanging Microdisk Arrays toward Omniphobic Surfaces," Advanced Materials, Accepted for publication (2015).

Omniphobic surfaces are created by designing array of overhanging microdisks on polymer film through two steps of photolithography. Two distinct edges and large height of the microdisks relative to separation ensure the formation of air mat under the microdisks, providing omniphobic property. Moreover, the freestanding omniphobic films are transparent and flexible, potentially serving as liquids-repellent surfaces in various applications.
