 An Article in Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics on lithographically-featured photonic microparticles of colloidal assemblies has been accepted for publication.
This paper presents the fabrication of the composite and porous photonic crystals microparticles by using the combination of the self-assembly of colloidal particles and the photolithography technique. The bandgap position of the microparticles was controlled by size of silica particles and shape of the microparticles was tailored by photomasks. In addition, bilayered composite and porous microparticles with two distinct photonic bandgaps were also prepared by employing sequential deposition of the colloidal crystals composed of silica particles with two different sizes.
