Tae Yoon Jeon, Ju Hyeon Kim, Sung-Gyu Park, Jung-Dae Kwon, Dong-Ho Kim, and Shin-Hyun Kim, "Stacked-Disk Nanotower Arrays for use as Omniphobic SERS Substrates", Advanced Optical Materials, accepted for publication (2016).

Omniphobic SERS substrate was designed using an array of silver-coated nanotowers with wavy side walls. The re-entrant geometry on the side walls rendered the surface omniphobic, and metal nanogaps provided a strong localized surface plasmon resonance effect. Molecules dissolved in either water or organic solvent could be concentrated on the substrate by drying, which significantly enhanced the Raman intensity.
