Photonic microdisks were designed to have multilayered structure from photocurable suspensions by step-by-step photolithography. In each step of photolithography, either colloidal photonic crystal or magnetic particle-laden layer was stacked over windows of photomask. Sequential photolithography enables the creation of multilayered photonic microdisks of which brilliant structural colors are able to be switched by external magnetic field.
